Waivers/Free Agency Rules

WAIVERS AND FREE AGENCY
"Waivers" is simply a holding tank for players that allows all members of the league to have a fair opportunity to add a player to their team. Players are placed on waivers (1) at the start of each week (if not on a team) and (2) when they are dropped from a team. Unowned players and dropped players reside on waivers beginning each week of play, residing there from Sunday morning until 11:59 p.m. PT on Wednesday. At the clearance time, the player leaves waivers to join either a team (if a request was made) or the free-agent pool (if no request was made). Unclaimed players become free agents and may be picked up for free on a first-come, first-served basis without affecting a team's waiver position.

Note: Players added to a team (either by waivers or free agency) are immediately available to be played.

Waiver claims are awarded based on the waiver position of each team. Your waiver position is the relative power you have when selecting a player off of the waiver wire. When more than one team requests a player on waivers, the player is awarded to the team with the lower waiver position (closer to 1). When a claim is resolved, the waiver position for the team that received the player is changed to 10 (the lowest priority) and all the other teams move up a position. If only one team requests a player on waivers, they will be awarded the player, but will still lose their waiver position. If more than one team loses their waiver position in a given week, the team with the higher waiver position (closer to 10) will have that position changed to 10 while the team with the lower waiver position (closer to 1) will have their waiver position changed to 9.

Each team's waiver position is assigned following the first week of play -- the team with the worst record receives the best waiver position (number 1) and the top team receives the worst waiver position (number 10). Since there are identical won-lost records after only one week of play, teams with the lowest number of fantasy points are given the better position (closer to 1). Waivers process weekly on Wednesday at 11:45 p.m. PT.

Waiver claims can be made at any time before that player clears waivers. Any player who is dropped within a given week, is not available to be added and will appear on waivers during the initial waiver run on the following Sunday.
