Application of tiebreaker
rules when three or more teams are involved
|
|
Each of the above tiebreaker procedures assumes only
two teams are involved. When three or more teams are involved in a tie,
the application of the tiebreaker rules will be as follows:
1. Tiebreaker will be applied two teams at a time: Team
A vs. Team B, Team A vs. Team C, Team B vs. Team C, etc.
2. If step 1 fails to break the tie (example: Team
A holds tiebreak over Team B, Team B holds tiebreak over Team C, and Team
C holds tiebreak over Team A), then tiebreaker will be applied simultaneously:
Team A vs. Team B vs. Team C.
3. In either application of the tiebreaker, if one or
more teams win the tiebreak over the other teams AND further tiebreaking
is needed, the tiebreaker will revert to step 1.
