WEEK EIGHT REPORT

Just when the playoff picture was looking to clear itself up, three of the bottom four teams won their Week 8 contests, making things a lot more interesting. First, The Fat Bus handed Randy's Rocket their first loss of the season. Next, Chisel Squad beat St. Johns Ragin' Amies handily. And, last but not least, The Pussy Willows routed White Chocolate. These victories were huge - as all three teams had their backs to the wall prior to Week 8 - having recorded only two victories each through seven games.

Feature game of the week
Scott's "All They Know How To Do Is Score" Savants (6-2) defeated P.O.B.'s Pounders (4-4), 100-77. With the victory, the Savants moved within one game of Lip Conference leading Randy's Rocket. QB Kurt Warner continues to post big numbers for their team - making up for the token weekly stiff player that the Savants like to pick up on waivers and start on Sunday. Last week it was RB Tiki Barber, this week WR (errr...TE) Tony Gonzales. P.O.B.'s Pounders still lead the league in overall points by a wide margin, yet are only 4-4. Next week they face The Pussy Willows in a game that may determine which of those two teams will make the playoffs.

Here are the rest of the results for Week Eight:

The Fat Bus (3-4-1) defeated Randy's Rocket (7-1), 83-78. It took a few fluke plays to do it, but somebody has finally beaten Randy's Rocket - ending their 11 game winning streak. First, The Fat Bus had QB Brad Johnson fumble his handoff to RB Stephen Davis at the goal line, catch the ball in the hair, and scamper one yard for the rushing TD. Next, their newly acquired WR Terrence Wilkins recovered a fumble in the end zone, which is considered a zero-yard rushing TD. Those eight points enabled the Bus to record the upset, despite playing with a Pop Warner lineup. It's amazing a team can win a game with starting RBs Olandis Gary and Terry Kirby, and WRs Wilkins and Bobby Engram. Despite losing, Randy's Rocket improved their team this week as they raped Jo-Boo's Browns Backers in a six-player trade (see transactions).

Chisel Squad (3-5) defeated St. Johns Ragin' Amies (4-4), 108-88. This was an important win for Chisel Squad, as they are fighting to keep their postseason hopes alive. WR Derrick Alexander was the key in this game, as he actually outscored the Amies' WR Marvin Harrison - the only legitimate fantasy player on their team. Next week, Chisel Squad takes on The Fat Bus, which means one of those teams will have a two game winning streak following Week 9 (watch out!!!) The Amies will play the Browns Backers next week in a battle of the Hair Conference's top two teams.

Jo-Boo's Browns Backers (4-3-1) defeated T.T.M.F.N. (1-7), 77-64. What more can be said about T.T.M.F.N. ??? They continue to underperform in every statistical category, and their weekly scoring average is in danger of falling below 60 points. They even had the league's first missed P.A.T. of the season on Sunday. The Browns Backers barely scored enough points to win this contest, needing some Monday night heroics from D/ST Seattle to avenge a Week Two loss to T.T.M.F.N.

The Pussy Willows (3-5) defeated White Chocolate (4-4), 126-67. The Pussy Willows beat White Chocolate for the first time in their history, helped largely by newly acquired WR Marcus Robinson who posted 30 points on Sunday. The win gives the Willows a big chance to move into a playoff spot next week, when they play against P.O.B.'s Pounders. White Chocolate will play T.T.M.F.N. in Week Nine's interleague game, upping their record to 5-4.

After Week Nine's games get underway (10:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 7th), trades will no longer be accepted. On a related note, I heard a rumor WRs Randy Moss and Antonio Freeman are on the trading block...
