WEEK THREE REPORT

Talk about getting the Monday Night Chisel! Trailing The Fat Bus by only 10 points, Jo-Boo's Browns Backers had both franchise QB Steve Young and WR Rob Moore playing in Monday's game - and thought the victory was a lock. As Lee Corso says, "Not so fast my friend!"  Before making a catch, Moore had to leave the game with a pulled hamstring, never to return. Then, right before the half, Young got knocked out, suffered a concussion, and was done for the night. He had only scored 10 points for the Browns Backers before the injury! Instead of getting an easy victory, the Browns Backers tied The Fat Bus 59-59.

Here are the rest of the results for Week Three:

P.O.B.'s Pounders (2-1) defeated the Chisel Squad (1-2), 80-65. Despite making the stupidest roster change of the season, P.O.B.'s Pounders still managed to defeat the Chisel Squad in a key Hair Confernce matchup. The Pounders scored zero points from QB Kordell Stewart, who they opted to start over franchise QB Mark Brunell. The Pounders even managed to get away with starting rookie WR Kevin Johnson of the Cleveland Browns! The Chisel Squad failed to capitalize on their opponent's risky lineup changes, as RB Fred Lane (replacing Ricky Williams who had a bye) mustered up only 3 fantasy points. Opting not to trade for RB Tim Biakabatuka (29 pt. performance Sunday) in the week before the game, the Chisel Squad further "chiseled" themselves by benching RB Lawrence Phillips, whose Monday performance would have given his team a tie.

St. Johns Ragin' Amies (2-1) defeated T.T.M.F.N. (1-2), 90-74. How long can WR Marvin Harrison carry this team? The Colts' receiver has scored at least 25 points three straight weeks for the Ragin' Amies! The rest of the team has provided balanced scoring, allowing the league's rookie team to jump to an early lead in the Overall Points race. T.T.M.F.N., who has failed to reach the 80-point mark once in their first three games, might want to rethink their plan of basing their key roster positions on players from the Arizona Cardinals. QB Jake Plummer has managed to score a combined 11 points in his last two starts, while RB Adrian Murrell has tallied 12 points during the same time span.

Randy's Rocket (3-0) defeated Scott's "All they Know How To Do Is Score" Savants (2-1), 76-71. The Rocket hasn't necessarily blasted off in 1999, but the defending Super Bowl champion has managed to keep his winning streak intact despite below average scoring through the first three weeks of the season. With this week's win over the Savants, Randy's Rocket notched their eighth consecutive victory dating back to Week Twelve of 1998. The Savants, no longer undefeated and humbled in this week's FFL Power Rankings, might be experiencing Deja Vu! Just like in the past two seasons, the Savants' early success changes rapidly right after making a trade. This year, they have managed to deal away QB Charlie Batch, while their incumbent starter, QB Randall Cunningham of the Vikings, is starting to struggle. A couple more subpar games for Randall, and Jeff George will be taking over Minnesota's sputtering offense. If that happens, the Savants will be left to choose between Troy Aikman, Curt Warner, and Cade McNown. Ouch!

White Chocolate (1-2) defeated The Pussy Willows (1-2), 94-93. The two highest scoring teams of Week Three needed Monday night to decide this contest. Tied heading into the final game of the week, White Chocolate's Jerry Rice outscored Terrell Owens of The Pussy Willows by one point. Not only did White Chocolate manage to earn their first victory of the year, but they continued their dominance over The Pussy Willows and are now 3-0 against them lifetime.

Next week is the first full week of interleague play, and will give the Hair Conference a chance to even things up a bit with the Lip Conference. So far, the Lip is 3-0 against the Hair, and its teams have a total of nine wins - compared to only five wins in the Hair.
