2006 Week 8 Report

One more regular season week is in the books and only 5 more remain before the playoffs. Just a reminder that this will be the last week to make trades before the Week Nine trading deadline. I would suspect a firesale or two will be completed before sunrise on Sunday, but we will have to wait and see what the league's cellar dwellers decide to do. There have already been a few lopsided trades so perhaps we've seen enough fireworks for one year. As always, it's looking like it will be a close race for the last few playoff spots. The Lip Conference is in a position to send 4 teams through to the postseason so the Hair Conference teams better step up down the stretch.

Here are the results for Week Eight:

Schwein Fire (3-5) defeated Gold Grill (4-4), 129-113. Once again Gold Grill gets screwed. They are the 2nd highest scoring team on the week, and if it wasn't for rookie WR sensation Marques Colston they would have had a nice Week Eight victory here. Schwein Fire needed this win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.

Bush-Whacked (6-2) defeated Special Team (1-7), 83-55. Way to go Special Team! You proved to the league that you deserve to ride in special short yellow bus as you started a bye week kicker. That hasn't been done in this league in a long while. Bush-Whacked is now 5-0 in their conference and looks to be a lock to win that division.

P.O.B.'s Pounders (5-3) defeated Jo-Boo's Browns Backers (3-5), 95-71. Another win for the defending champs. Four weeks ago, they looked like they would be a lottery team in 2007. Four wins later they look like they might be able to defend their crown! Jo-Boo is shitty. Shitty, I tell you.

The Savants (3-5) defeated The Steins (4-4), 109-94. Steined! Despite 15 points from their defense, The Steins get eclipsed by league patsy, The Savants. Things aren't rosey in Eddyville these days. The Savants are still in this thing, folks. Well, on paper, at least. We all know they will lose 4 more games this year.

The Fat Bus (5-3) defeated Old Joe (6-2), 101-66. Before this year, Old Joe dominated The Fat Bus. Completely dominated is more like it. But not in 2006. With this win, The Fat Bus sweeps the season series and has now handed Old Joe both of their losses for this year.

Taunt you next week...
