2006 Week 5 Report

Week Five was another low scoring week. Only one team scored over 100 points this week and most of the big name players in the league disappointed. The only thing that is even newsworthy this week is that The Savants won their game vs. The Fat Bus. The only winless team in the league managed to knock off the only undefeated team. Comedy. Overall, there was little excitement in the Taunt FFL for Week Five.

Here are the full results for Week Five:

Old Joe (4-1) defeated Jo-Boo's Browns Backers (2-3), 108-68. Jo-Boo is an average team. They will have better weeks, but not many. Old Joe keeps on rolling up points, thanks to QB Donovan McNabb. How long can it last?

Bush-Whacked (4-1) defeated Schwein Fire (2-3), 87-78. Yawn. Another sleep fest. How long are the Schweins going to stick with WR Drew Bennett? He has managed to score exactly 1 point over the last two weeks on the worst team in the NFL. With Larry Fitzgerald's injury, perhaps they have no choice other than to use this stiff.

P.O.B.'s Pounders (2-3) defeated Special Team (1-4), 85-66. It's going to be a long ride back for Special Team in that short, wide bus. The retards on their squad are not producing and they have now peeled off 4 losses in a row. The pounders should feel relieved to get this win after deciding to sit their best receiver (Hines Ward) to take a gamble on super stiff Troy Williamson. Nice 11 yards, Troy. I guess it's O.K. to get cute when your defense scores two touchdowns. For the week, the Minnesota defense was the Pounders overall leading scorer with 17 points.

The Savants (1-4) defeated The Fat Bus (4-1), 74-69. The Bus should be embarrassed. One, because they lost to The Savants. Two, because they benched their best and most consistent running back, Deuce McAllister, in favor of Thomas Jones. The Deuce was playing at home vs. the winless Bucs and his 19 points would have helped a lot more than Jones' 12. One throat, four hands.

The Steins (3-2) defeated Gold Grill (2-3), 94-64. When Cinci has a bye, so do the Golden Girls. Starting QB Chad Pennington was terrible and managed just 3 total points for Gold Grill. The Steins have moved back into the overall points race with a strong showing this week. They still have to be a bit concerned that Robbie Gould is carrying their team. He was the leading scorer for the franchise in this contest.

That's all I have to say for Week Five.
