2006 Week 11 Report

Just two more weeks before the regular season ends and we start the playoffs. As we all know, only six teams qualify for the playoffs and after Week Eleven there are eight teams still alive for a playoff berth. The two teams that have been mathematically eliminated are Jo-Boo's Browns Backers and Special Team. Although they have already been eliminated, these two teams can play spoiler down the stretch as they are matched up against teams who desperately need to beat them, as well as teams looking to clinch a first round bye. Three teams have already clinched a playoff berth: Bush-Whacked, Old Joe, and The Fat Bus. In addition to clinching a spot in the playoffs, Bush-Whacked has also clinched the Hair Conference championship for the second year in a row.

The playoff picture is not that simple this season. Before we outline each team's postseason chances, here are the final results for Week Eleven:

The Fat Bus (7-4) defeated Jo-Boo's Browns Backers (3-8), 101-39.
Bush-Whacked (8-3) defeated Schwein Fire (5-6), 91-76.
The Steins (6-5) defeated P.O.B.'s Pounders (5-6), 127-99.
The Savants (4-7) defeated Special Team (2-9), 79-73.
Gold Grill (7-4) defeated Old Joe (8-3), 108-77.

Things worth mentioning from Week Eleven:

* The Savants still have a shot at the playoffs! Yes, it's true. If The Savants win their final two games of the year, they can qualify for a postseason berth.

* Jo-Boo's Browns Backers embarrassed themselves and the entire league by scoring only 39 points this past week. That is the lowest score posted in six years. The last team to score that low... Jo-Boo himself! He scored 28 points and 34 points in two different weeks in 2000. Do you think it's time to hire an assistant?

* Losing QB Donovan McNabb is going to make things awfully tough for Old Joe down the stretch. Can they hold on to their Lip Conference and overall scoring leads? It won't be easy.

* Even though Gold Grill has seven wins, they have not clinched a playoff spot. Their conference rival, The Fat Bus, also has seven victories this year - but the Bus has clinched a playoff berth. These two enemies will play each other in the Week Thirteen regular season finale.

Alright, here's how the playoff race is shaping up...
