2005 Week 5 Report
|
Week Five was a pretty boring week. Most of the
games were ugly, a lot of big players got injured, and there was little
excitement in the Taunt FFL.
Here are the full results for Week Five:
Jo-Boo's Browns Backers (2-3)
defeated The Steins (2-3),
83-64. This is
just sad. What has happened to the franchise formerly known as The Murph
Killers? Not only are they posting anemic scores - but they can't even
get a victory over the hapless Jo-Boo.
Receiver U. (4-1)
defeated The Running Monks (0-5),
114-82. Receiver
U. was more like Receiver high school this week, but they got enough points
from Steve Smith, Terry Glenn and Tom Brady to hand the Monks their 5th
straight loss. The aforementioned trio combined for 83 points which is
more than the entire Monk squad. The Monks did a make a nice move starting
K Josh Scobee this week, but they counterbalanced that strategic pearl
by starting WR Braylon Edwards. For those of you who did not know,
the rookie wide receiver was declared inactive.
Orange Julius (3-2)
defeated E-Z Money (2-3),
100-79. Some
consider this to be the league's most bitter rivalry. After sending out
their annual "Open letter to the Savants," Orange Julius lived
up to the pre-game hype and coasted to the win vs. E-Z Money. Playing
without Culpepper and Barber - arguably their best two players - E-Z Money
had little chance in this one.
Who-Dey Delight (4-1)
defeated The Fat Bus (1-4),
98-79. More injuries
for the Bus! Now it looks like Deuce is done for the year. They also lost
Najeh "defecation" Davenport for the year, as he broke his
ankle this past week. With RB Mike Anderson losing time to Taum Bell,
this squad is hurtin' for certain. At 1-4, they really are pretty facked
now. As for Who-Dey and the Rosefish, they have far surpassed everyone's
expectations in 2005. Being 4-1 is quite an accomplishment for this franchise.
P.O.B.'s Pounders (5-0)
defeated Cinnamon Roll Nation (2-3),
92-89. Another
close win for the Pounders. Their blessed season continues as they find
a way to win yet again. The Nation usually doesn't fare well on Monday
nights, and this week was no exception.
