2003 Week 14 Report

We have reached the Final Four! With two weeks remaining, the title can be won by any of the following teams: The Fat Bus, The Steins, Vick's Vagines, or P.O.B. Pimps. These four squads were also the top four overall scoring teams of the regular season, which shows their presence in the playoffs is no fluke.

In the first Round One game, Vick's Vagines throttled Karen's Komets, 178-110. The Komets will not be repeating in 2003! Although they went out like champions with a solid 110 point effort, Karen's squad of overachievers got their ass handed to them this week. It was a record setting performance by the Vagines who enjoyed 15 combined touchdowns from their players in this first round of postseason action. RB Clinton Portis set an all-time record for his position with 56 points and the 178 points scored by the entire team is by far the most points scored in any week in the league's history.

In the other Round One game, P.O.B. Pimps took out Faerie Fucks, 83-68. If you recall, Faerie Fucks have had their share of agonizing Monday night finishes (a.k.a. Monday Night Chisels). Why should this game be any different? Entering the final game of the week with a 7 point lead, the Fucks only needed RB James Jackson to keep pace with the Pimps' RB Marshall Faulk and D/ST St. Louis. Before you could blink, Jackson left the game with a knee injury and St. Louis defense scored a touchdown. Good game, see you later. The Fucks are out and the Pimps advance to the next round despite a lackluster effort.

O.K., here is the updated playoff bracket:

With only four teams left, who better to get commentary from than the league's favorite son, the 1/2 owner of The Steins...

Well, week 15 has arrived!

I'd like to first congratulate Kelso and the Pimps! I hope Kelso's performance next week is better then his performance (on demand) on N. Knowles after a night of shooting his wad. Of course that was after a few Falstaff's.

Murph also deserves some congratulations on a great week. I can hear it already "Are you kidding me?" Murph think of it as a round a golf. You played great and shot a 65 but the guy you are playing shot 60. Your first problem was you only showed up for nine, your second problem was you played in your Chuck Taylors and your third was you used an orange ball.

How can I forget to congratulate PO for doing a great job of drafting for week 14 as he states is his mission year in and year out? Too bad he forgot about the first 13 weeks.

The pressure is on in week 15. Does the Bus know how to play under the pressure of being a division winner?

Does Kelso think that he will score 50 touchdowns again this week?

Will the Pimps success against The Steins continue?

Good luck and its good to see the web page updated in a timely fashion.

Here is my personal take on our Second Round games:

Vick's Vagines (#4 seed) vs. The Fat Bus (#1 seed)

178 points. Damn, that's a lot of points to score in the opening round of the playoffs! Conventional wisdom says the Vagines should run out of ammo this week. But I checked the matchups, and they should do well here. However the matchups aren't too shabby for the Bus either. This one will be close, very close.

Final Score: The Fat Bus 105, Vick's Vagines 103.

P.O.B. Pimps (#3 seed) vs. The Steins (#2 seed)

This is a very difficult matchup to forecast. Both teams have been steady down the stretch, and both have O.K. matchups this week. Instinct tells me that history will repeat, and the fact is the Pimps have a shitty playoff history while The Steins have a ring. Hrmmm......

Final Score: The Steins 95, P.O.B. Pimps 90.

That's it for now. See ya next week.
