Super Bowl Final Score:

This championship game was never close as
Eighty-Eight, Late!
dominated from the start while Dippity Doo
surprisingly failed to get solid numbers from their trifecta of Green Bay
Packers. With Favre, Ahman Green and Longwell going against a pathetic
Minnesota Vikings defense at Lambeau this Sunday, the combined 22 fantasy
points put up by the trio was much lower than anybody could have reasonably
suspected.
Meanwhile, Eighty-Eight's wide receivers went
crazy this week as they combined for six touchdowns and 77 fantasy points.
Torry Holt (#88) came through with his first big game of the 2001 campaign
as he posted 32 points for the franchise. David Boston added 25 points
and Tony Gonzales contributed 17.
With the win, Eighty-Eight, Late! earns their
second championship ring and becomes the league's first repeat Super Bowl
winner. Dippity Doo pocketed a nice chunk of change for their 2nd place
finish and earned $200 overall on the year. This year was their first playoff
appearance and first year with a cash prize.
This is what the final playoff bracket looks

Looks like spending increased this past year
as more teams were willing to make deals and scour the waiver wire. As
you all know, we donated the $229 in transaction fees from 1999 and 2000
to the NYPD & FDNY Widows and Children's Fund. I think that was a great
decision by all of you.
Thanks to all teams for participating this
year, and hopefully all ten squads will be back for next year! Our draft
night has been traditionally held on or around Labor Day weekend, but I
realize some owners prefer to have it one week earlier so they can travel
with their families. This year's draft night was very frustrating as one
owner could not attend and had to do it via telephone -- and several hours
late! Let's all plan better this year so we can have a smooth, fun event
and hopefully with maximum attendance.
In other words let's try not to make any Year
2002 Labor Day travel plans if we can help it and let's communicate which
night our volleyball tournament will be held (Murph).
Taunt you all next year...
The Commish
