WEEK FIFTEEN REPORT
(Playoffs Round Two)

Next week it will be Dippity Doo vs. Eighty-Eight, Late! for the 2001 FFL championship! Winning their first playoff game ever, Dippity Doo will now try and take home the title in their first ever Super Bowl appearance. This will be the third Super Bowl game in the last four years for Eighty-Eight, Late! as they will attempt to become the league's first repeat champion.

In the first semifinal matchup of Week Fifteen, defending champion Bullseye never got untracked -- as their starting QB Todd Bouman was knocked out of the game before being able to record a single point. Without any quarterback points, they had no chance to defeat Dippity Doo and his trio of Green Bay Packers. According to the owner of Jo-Boo's Browns Backers, "Bullseye had been winning with smoke and mirrors all season. Well, the glass finally broke."  Final score: Dippity Doo 95, Bullseye 71.

In the other semifinal contest, Eighty-Eight, Late! was fortunate that NGL©'s wide recievers had a horrible day. Randy Moss, Tim Brown, and Derrick Alexander combined for 7 points! Eighty-Eight's receivers didn't shatter any records, but Marcus Pollard contributed 11 points and Torry Holt added 9. In the end, QB production for NGL© proved to be the killer. With Jeff Garcia nursing cracked ribs, the squad turned to Elvis Grbac -- and his 9 points just were not enough to keep this game close.  Final score: Eighty-Eight, Late! 97, NGL© 79.

Playoff Schedule

Let's take a look at the Super Bowl matchup:

Eighty-Eight, Late! (#4 seed) vs. Dippity Doo (#2 seed)

As with every season, we play 15 weeks and then it all boils down to one game. Both of these teams have been strong down the stretch and both have a handful of quality players. In looking at who may win next week's big game, I have to go to the matchup card -- and one game stands out bigger than the rest: Minnesota at Green Bay.

With their "Pack-attack" of Favre, Ahman Green & Longwell, Dippity Doo should be able to exploit this matchup for some solid fantasy scores... well at least on paper. There is little indication Minnesota will bring their defense to the freezing weather of Wisconsin, so this game could be over early and the stars could sit down in the 2nd half. Whether these players score big or sit early, this game should tell us alot about who will be the next champion.

Key matchups in Eighty-Eight's favor are David Boston at Carolina (he should bounce back) and Priest Holmes at Jacksonville (he's going for the NFL rushing title). It will be interesting to see if QB Aaron Brooks can recover from his 4 interception outing in Week Fifteen as his team hosts the Redskins.

For Dippity Doo, he should have some tough lineup decisions to make as two of his top receivers have nasty matchups: Quadry Ismail at Tampa Bay and Amani Toomer at Philadelphia.  Overall, I would have to say both squads have favorable matchups for a high scoring championship game.

My prediction for the winning team...       Eighty-Eight, Late! by 10.

Have a Merry Christmas all of you, and check back in for the final report next Monday morning!
