WEEK TEN REPORT

The playoff picture got a little clearer this week as Bullseye clinched a berth with their 7th victory in a row. With their Week Ten loss, The Fruit Baskets joined Marshall's Maulers in the "mathematically eliminated" club. And that dubious club is about to induct a 3rd squad, Jo-Boo's Browns Backers, who basically traded their 2001 season away. Could it be the White Thrash curse?

As for the rest of the teams... it looks like it might come down to four clubs fighting for three spots. The Savants, Eighty-Eight, Late!, and Corey Dillon The Ball Carrier all have 5-5 records on the year -- and there are two key head-to-head games remaining between the clubs. The fourth squad, Dippity Doo, has a slightly better record (6-4) than the other three teams, but they have been known to choke down the stretch. After next week we should know a lot more about which of these teams is going to make the postseason.

Nobody delivers the MNC like Minnesota's WR Randy Moss! Trailing by 41 points entering the last game of the week, NGL© needed a big night from Moss -- and he delivered. His 39 points set a new season record for most points by a wideout and tied for 4th best all-time. Unfortunately for NGL© it was two points too few and they lost their Week Ten matchup. As Moss does well, QB Daunte Culpepper does well. Bullseye needed only 23 from their quarterback to defeat Corey Dillon The Ball Carrier this week. They got 39. It wasn't much of a chisel, as we all expected Culpepper to earn the necessary points - but it was fun to watch.

Here are the league's full results for Week Ten:

Bullseye (8-2) defeated Corey Dillon The Ball Carrier (5-5), 107-90. Seven wins in a row and Bullseye looks like they are going to earn more money this season. Without Edgerrin James for the rest of the year, their chances to win it all obviously take a bit of hit, but they are definitely still a top contender. Corey Dillon is struggling with scoring points this year, and they may find it tough to defeat The Savants next week in a key showdown. And it won't get any easier for them Week Twelve vs. PTP: Peyton's Trailerpark Posse! And if that is not bad enough, their final regular season game is against NGL©... It's going to be tough for them to win another game this year - let alone qualify for the playoffs.

Eighty-Eight, Late! (5-5) defeated NGL© (6-3-1), 126-124. Despite losing, NGL© put up another solid performance this week. Over the last two weeks they are averaging 138 points per game. Eighty-Eight was almost Late-d by #84 on Monday. They survived the scare and now control their own destiny. They were lucky that this was the week their defense and kicker decided to go nuts - the two combined for 33 points.

Marshall's Maulers (2-7-1) defeated The Fruit Baskets (2-7-1), 70-61. This was the first step for these two teams in determining who gets next year's #1 draft pick. It'll be a dogfight the rest of the way, but some think that Jo-Boo might crash their party and make a run at the prize (to make it back-to-back #1 draft picks).

The Savants (5-5) defeated Dippity-Doo (6-4), 123-99. Huge victory for The Savants as they stopped a 3-game slide. Had they lost their 4th game in a row, they know their playoff chances would have been slim. But they didn't lose, and in fact, put up their best performance of the year. Dippity-Doo drops to 2nd place in the Lip Conference and now has to fight to keep their postseason hopes going. Next week they match up against NGL© in what should be a very good game.

PTP: Peyton's Trailerpark Posse! (6-3-1) defeated Jo-Boo's Browns Backers (3-7), 86-48. Jo-Boo was awfully cocky a couple of weeks ago. They wheeled. They dealed. They even made a ballsy side-bet. Two losses and $38 later, their playoff dreams have evaporated. Let that be a lesson to all owners out there: Don't trade good players (Tiki Barber, Warrick Dunn, Willie Jackson) for white chocolate stiffs (James Thrash) and receivers who don't have QBs (Moulds). As for the Bus... errr... the Posse!, they set a new all-time record for defensive points as the N.Y. Jets posted 20 this week. (That was a lot more than any player on the Browns Backers scored against them this week.)

That's it for this week...
