WEEK EIGHT REPORT

There was a ton of scoring in Week Eight, with 7 teams crossing the century mark. In fact, two of the other teams scored over 90 points. Very impressive stuff! Unforunately, one team was absent from Week Eight's productivity - Jo-Boo's Browns Backers. Not only did they not keep pace with their peers, they actually managed to set the all-time league record for lowest score in a week with only 34 points. This season just seems to keep getting worse for this underachieving squad. The "Curse of Jo-Boo" continues!

Note from The Commish: Due to the length of the Monday night game, this report will be quick & dirty. But rest assured, next week, I'll have more than enough taunts and putdowns for all teams.

Feature game of the week
Akili's All-Stars (5-3) defeated Bullseye (5-3), 135-114. With RB Corey Dillon breaking Walter Payton's all-time single game rushing mark, the All-Stars coasted to victory over Bullseye. The win gives the All-Stars sole possession of the Lip Conference lead, and they can control their destiny from here. Bullseye, on the other hand, slips into a three-way tie for 2nd place in the Hair Conference.

Here are the rest of the results for Week Eight:

The Savants (4-4) defeated Santana's No Randy! TNT© (5-3), 121-91. The Savants earned an important victory, but they have lost franchise QB Kurt Warner for a few weeks. Will Trent Green be able to step in and replace Warner effectively? We shall see! My money is on a late season collapse - something The Savants have been known for.

The Endzone Dancers (6-2) defeated Dirty Sanchez (5-3), 120-113. This is a big victory for the Dancers, who virtually ensure themselves of a playoff spot, as they have yet to play Jo-Boo's Browns Backers or Team TBD. Should be easy picken's for them in the coming weeks. With the win, they now sit alone on top of the Hair Conference as they have a league-best record of 6-2.

The Fat Bus (4-4) defeated Jo-Boo's Browns Backers (0-8), 126-34. It doesn't get much uglier than this, folks. The Fat Bus gets the easy win and ends a 3 game losing streak. The Browns Backers continue to damage their lifetime stats, and are losing hope of achieving a win this season.

Team TBD (2-6) defeated The Funhouse Slaps (4-4), 104-96. When RB Eddie George went down with an injury early in the first quarter, this contest was over. This was exactly the break Team TBD needed in order to make a comeback. Now all they need is five more wins and they'll be back in the playoff race. Ha Ha!

Until next week...
