WEEK FIFTEEN REPORT
(Playoffs Round Two)
We will crown a new Super Bowl champion this
year! Bullseye and The Savants took care of business in Round Two and will
advance to the Week Sixteen final.
In one semifinal matchup, defending champion
Dirty Sanchez continued
their season-ending struggles, posting a mere 75 points for the second
week in a row! That's pretty pathetic. The
Savants easily coasted to victory, winning
the game 107-75. This was the first playoff victory ever for The Savants
and they are now guaranteed to add at least $150 to their 2000 FFL earnings.
Before this year, the franchise had not earned a dime, and now they stand
to take home $590 or $365 depending on their Super Bowl success.
In the other semifinal contest, Bullseye
powered their way to a 126-92 victory over Akili's
All-Stars. Bullseye was led by RB Edgerrin
James' 3 touchdowns and QB Daunte Culpepper's 4 scores.
Bullseye will now add to their league-leading
career earnings total, which will wind up being over the $1,000 mark. By
losing, Akili's All-Stars exemplified the futility of the Lip Conference
this year. In 27 games this year between Hair and Lip teams, the weaker
conference managed to win just 5 games. That's an 18% mark!
Here is the updated playoff bracket:
Playoff Schedule
Let's take a look at the Super Bowl matchup:
Bullseye (#4
seed) vs. The Savants
(#2 seed)
After 15 weeks this year, it all boils down
to one game. I doubt any owner in the league is surprised that these two
teams are meeting in this year's finals, and one of these teams will notch
their first league championship. But on the flip side of the coin, the
loser of this game will continue to be one of the league's biggest failures.
If Bullseye loses, their postseason legend
of failure will extend indefinitely. Who knows when they'll get back to
the title game again? For a team that has led the league in scoring during
the regular season 3 out of 4 years, they need this victory - and they
know it.
The Savants have accomplished very little.
Even this year, by winning the Hair Conference and getting a first round
bye in the playoffs, they still have accomplished very little. What they
have done is tied with all 4 other teams in their conference. They have
won exactly one playoff game all-time. And if they don't win this week's
game, they'll continue to be scoffed at. Especially in light of the players
they have on their roster: Warner, Taylor, Brown, McCaffrey....
I am not certain who will win this game,
but there is one thing I do know for sure... And that is the size and color
of the asterisk ( *
) I will place next to the winner's championship
stats.
Remember, boys and girls, winning a championship
title is an excellent goal - but not at the expense of the game's integrity.
