WEEK ELEVEN REPORT

We have completed all but two weeks of our regular season schedule, and three teams have clinched playoff spots while two others have been eliminated from the postseason. That leaves 5 teams still competing for 3 playoff spots. It's possible that both Wild Card teams could come from the same conference, which would give that division some room to taunt in the upcoming year. Before I post this week's results, here is my breakdown of the playoff race:

Murph Killers (8-3)
The Murph Killers locked up a playoff spot with their victory this week. In addition to having a 40 point lead in the overall points race, they are also in a great position to win the best overall record and the Lip Conference championship. If they win the Super Bowl, they could pull off an unprecedented Triple Crown!

P.O. Steve (8-3)
P.O. Steve clinched a playoff spot two weeks ago, and at worst will wind up as the Hair Conference runner-up. They can win the Hair Conference (and a first round playoff bye) by either winning one of their final two games or having Jo-Boo's Browns Backers lose one of their final two games.

The Fat Bus (7-3-1)
The Fat Bus clinched a playoff berth this week, and still have a chance at both the overall record and the Lip Conference championship. Their big game is next week (Week 12) when they take on the Murph Killers.

Jo-Boo's Browns Backers (6-4-1)
The Browns Backers can do no worse than finish with a .500 record, which could get them into the playoffs. If they win one of their final two games, or if 4th and Joey, NGL© loses one of their final two games - they will definitely get into the postseason.

Scott's "All They Know How To Do Is Score" Savants (5-5-1)
This is where things get interesting! The Savants control their own destiny: If they win both of their final two games, they will make the playoffs. If they split their two games, they can still get in, but will need some help. Next week's game is huge as they play 4th and Joey, NGL© in a game both teams desperately need to win. This one could decide who makes it to the postseason.

PPP: Gorilla Patch Junkies (5-5-1)
The Junkies are in a similar position as the Savants. If they win out the final two weeks, they get in. But, if they split, they will need some help. Next week they play P.O. Steve, and if they can win that game, they finish the regular season against Up Your Butt Jo-Boo (who has an .273 winning percentage).

4th and Joey, NGL© (5-6)
It's 4th down, and if Joey doesn't go long this team could be watching the playoffs with a salty taste in the mouth for the second year in a row. Their big game is next week against the Savants - a game that will most likely determine if they make the playoffs or not. If they win next week and in Week 13, they will be guaranteed a playoff spot. If they lose to the Savants, they will need the Junkies to lose both of their final games in order to sneak into the playoffs.

T.T.M.F. Little Johnny (4-7)
The Johnnies refuse to die! With only two games left, they can get into the playoffs at 6-7 if - and only if - they win their remaining games and have one of the following scenarios occur: 1) Both the Savants and the Junkies lose their final two games or 2) have the Junkies lose their final two games and 4th and Joey loses its final two games or 3) have the Junkies lose their final two games and 4th and Joey loses its next game against the Savants and ties its final game (a Week 13 conference matchup against Rais'n the Rueff) or 4) have the Junkies lose their final two games and 4th and Joey ties its remaining two games. Was that clear enough? If any of these scenarios is played out, the Johnnies could be the first team with a losing record to make our postseason since we went to a head-to-head format - which, of course, was only a year ago.

Up Your Butt Jo-Boo (3-8)
Up Your Butt was eliminated with this week's loss. We expected much more from this squad, at least to Obrien's face, so they may win this year's "most underachieving team" award.

Rais'n the Rueff (2-9)
What can you say about a team that needs to win out its final two games just to tie the worst overall record in the history of our league? ....    ....    ...   Exactly.

Here are the results from this week:

Scott's "All They Know How To Do Is Score" Savants (5-5-1) defeated Rais'n the Rueff (2-9) by the score of 115-98.

Jo-Boo's Browns Backers (6-4-1) defeated P.O. Steve (8-3) by the score of 85-72.

Murph Killers (8-3) defeated PPP: Gorilla Patch Junkies (5-5-1) by the score of 81-71.

T.T.M.F. Little Johnny (4-7) defeated Up Your Butt Jo-Boo (3-8) by the score of 99-45.

The Fat Bus (7-3-1) defeated 4th and Joey, NGL© (5-6) by the score of 96-88.

Good luck to all of you still fighting for a playoff spot!
